iTranslate, a provider of real-time language translation and communication services, recently announced a new Integration for Snap Inc.’s Lens Studio. This integration will allow developers to leverage language translation services in building Snapchat AR features.
This announcement was made at Snap Inc.’s Lens Fest conference for promoting AR development on the Platform. Lens Studio is software that is used by developers to create and publish “lenses” that can be used within Snapchat’s popular social media application. Via the new iTranslate API integration, developers will be able to utilize translation services that encompass over 50 different languages. This functionality will operate in real-time and could provide for social engagement on a global scale.
iTranslate’s General Manager Giordano Contestabile had this to say about the new offering:
“We are thrilled to have been chosen by Snap to power translation on the Lens Studio platform, and we can’t wait to see how creators and developers use our API to invent innovative, fun and rewarding experiences for Snap’s global community. Translation helps bring the world closer together, and we are on a mission to make fast, accurate and scalable translation available to everybody,”
The API is available immediately and interested developers can check out content from the Lens Fest conference as well as read through the company’s announcement.
